USA Network has announced that its longest running original drama, Burn Notice, has been renewed for a seventh season. On the air since 2007, the series has remained one of the network's top shows, and will be its third ever to reach the 100 episode mark. “Burn Notice is like a fine wine that gets better with age,” said network Co-Presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel. “Delivering high-octane action, gripping drama and nearly 7 million viewers for the mid-season finale, this veteran series is a proven staple of our portfolio.” The second half of the show's sixth season returns tonight with a special two-hour episode, and will continue through to the end of the …

Word is out today that Arrow will be coming to an end after its upcoming eighth season. The action drama is the network's longest-running superhero-based series, with its success helping pave the way for the likes of The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. Star Stephen Amell took to Twitter with the news, which does not come as a complete surprise given the show’s age. Once a flagship of The CW, Arrow's ratings have tapered off over the years. But at over 150 episodes, that is to be expected. And yet, it still draws decent numbers for the network compared to its other prime time entries. Yearly crossover episodes with fellow DC series also help boost its viewership. …

"NewsRadio" creator Paul Simms is writing the pilot and will executive produce with "Saturday Night Live" guru Lorne Michaels and Marci Klein. Broderick guest-starred on "30 Rock" in 2008 and has starred in several TV movies (most recently "The Music Man" on ABC in 2003), but "Beach Lane" would be hi…

After ten seasons of killing monsters, becoming demons, and fighting angels, who in their right mind says, “Hey, let’s make a musical”. Monsters do not make a good musical, demons do not make a good musical, and not even angels make a good musical. If you want a good musical, you do it with cats or maybe Dorothy and her little dog too, but Supernatural things do not make a good musical. And if that were not bad enough they actually invoke the name Barbara Streisand. Ugh, ugh, and ugh. This show has been many things for many years and how many times have we seen idiosyncrasies of ourselves come out in the characters. At any given moment we could feel empathy with one or m…

NBC announced today that The Blacklist has been picked up for a seventh season. Word is that Season 7 was already secured last May when the crime drama was renewed for Season 6, though nothing was said at the time. Currently sitting at an impressive 121 total episodes, the show could surpass the 150 mark if next season follows suit with another full 22 episodes. Led by James Spader, the series premiered in 2013 as one of the top new shows of that year. While its best days have long-since passed, the show still draws a decent audience in its new Friday night time slot. This season marks its first as a mid-season player, with a January premiere rather than its typical …

  7. [imgleft] [/imgleft] In celebration of the final season of "Lost" premiering Tuesday, Feb. 2 on ABC, iTunes has launched character playlists. We're curious as whether or not you guys think these lists fit the characters. We happen to think Kate's fits the best, plus it's also our personal favorite list of songs. We also would've included "Born to Run" for her. Kate's Tracks: LOST EP: A fugitive on the run, the strong-willed Kate Austen has a tumultuous past. 1. "Cherry Bomb" (The Runaways) 2. "Crazy" (Patsy Cline) 3. "Jack of All Parades" (Elvis Costello) 4. "(I Know) I'm Losing You" (Rod Stewart) 5. "Another Nail in My Heart" (Squeeze) 6. "Bad M…

[imgleft] [/imgleft] We've finally wrapped the guest judges on "American Idol." How'd they all do? One thing that hinders our judging of the guest judges is the fact that screentime is not always created equal. By our (extremely scientific) calculations, we've seen 2 1/4 hours of Victoria Beckham, 1.5 hours of Mary J. Blige, 45 minutes each of Shania Twain and Kristin Chenoweth, about 30 minutes of Neil Patrick Harris, 20 minutes each of Avril Lavigne and Katy Perry and about five seconds of Joe Jonas. Enough to judge how they did? It doesn't matter, we're going to judge anyway. According to our guest judge polls, as of 8 a.m. PT Wednesday, Feb. 3, on a sc…

It was announced today that Supernatural will be coming to an end after its already-ordered 15th season. The news, which was posted on social media by some of its stars, comes two months after the veteran drama's most-recent renewal and will bring an end to one of television's longest-running series. Originally premiering on the now-defunct WB Network in 2005, Supernatural has impressively amassed over 300 episodes and boasts one of television's most-loyal fanbases. Throughout its time on the air, the show has always been one of The CW's top-rated series - even to this day. 20 episodes have been ordered for the final season of Supernatural. 15. [imgleft] [/imgleft] Conan O'Brien could very well end up on FOX by the fall -- provided the network can show its corporate bosses that a late-night show would make money. So sayeth Rupert Murdoch, chairman and CEO of FOX parent News Corp. On a conference call discussing the company's financial results Wednesday (Feb. 3), Murdoch said the network is giving a late-night show "a lot of thought and examination." "Certainly if the program people can show us that we could do it, and be fairly confident of making a profit on it, we'd do it in a flash," Murdoch said. The "if" there is a pretty sizable one, though. FOX affiliates run syndicated shows after their late l…

  19. [imgleft] [/imgleft] "MacGyver" creator Lee Zlotoff wants to stop the new "Saturday Night Live" skit-turned-movie "MacGruber" from seeing theaters. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Zlotoff, who created the 1985-1992 ABC "MacGyver" series, is sending cease-and-desist letters to executives at Relativity Media, the company responsible for the "MacGruber" movie, hitting theaters in April. Apparently, Zlotoff retained the rights to the "MacGyver" franchise and a movie version of the popular Richard Dean Anderson television show is in the works (though there is no word as to whether Anderson will be involved), so Zlotoff and his lawyers feel they might have a case of cop…
