MTV has renewed Awkward for Season 5 in what will be the show's final run to conclude the series. The comedy premiered in 2011 and has amassed a loyal fanbase over the years, even picking up a People's Choice Award for favorite cable comedy along the way. CBS announced today that Blue Bloods has been picked up for a tenth season. FOX will not be renewing freshman drama The Mob Doctor after a low-rated first season. The struggling series got off to a slow start when it premiered this past September and never managed to pull itself out of its ratings funk. Word is out this evening that Fox has cancelled The Gifted after two seasons. The mutant drama, which concluded its sophomore run earlier this year, is the latest Marvel-based series to get the axe. Cinemax announced today that Warrior has been renewed for a second season. As reported by the Daily Star, Stewart may join Doctor Who next year, and could become a regular character on the popular science-fiction series. According to the article, Stewart has been offered the role of a rival Time Lord, called "The Meddling Monk." The Meddling Monk was last seen on Doctor Who in the second and third seasons of Doctor Who in the 1960s, in the The Time Meddler and The Daleks' Master Plan episodes.
