Patrick Wayne Kearney told investigators that he committed his first murder while living in Culver City in 1962. The Redondo Beach man ultimately would be convicted of 21 killings, all males, all between the ages of 5 and 28, but he may have killed dozens more. The Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer is recovering from surgery to replace both of his hips. Joel, 61, underwent surgery last week to correct a congenital condition and is "doing extremely well," his spokeswoman tells People. Joel toured earlier this year, but he's been slowed by the condition in his hips -- he's been walking with a cane in recent weeks -- and opted to have them both replaced in one operation.
