Judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young castan expert eye over the garments, in the contest to findBritain's best amateur sewer.Week One sees Patrick and Esmesettling the contestants in with a trio of challenges based oneveryday wardrobe staples. They start with their first PatternChallenge, creating the simple, clean lines of the versatileclassic sleeveless blouse known as a shell top. For theTransformation Challenge, the sewers must turn old t-shirtsinto completely new garments for men, women or children, injust 90 minutes. And in the Made to Measure, mannequins arereplaced with real-life models. Who will whip up a well-fittingbuffet dress and win themselves Garment of the Week, and whosehopes of staying in the competition will flounder?
