It's April 1970 and Trixie oversees the care of Arlene, anunmarried mother who is heavily pregnant and under the care ofthe district midwives. Rising rates of gonorrhoea in thedistrict cause alarm when Zeta, a young Cypriot expectantmother, is diagnosed. She is utterly distressed and bewilderedby her diagnosis and her husband Mehmet denies any extramaritalaffair. Meanwhile, Cyril and Rosalind volunteer together atthe homeless shelter.
