Ellis and her assistant DS Harper find themselves in the tinyvillage of Ashenham, where the body of a local businessman andphilanthropist has been found. The victim was a beloved localfigure but his plans to launch a prison release work scheme hadcaused outrage, with many locals angered by the thought ofcriminals integrating into their idyllic community. Beforelong, the local officers narrow in on a prime suspect andbriing the case to a close - but Ellis is not convinced andcontinues to dig.
