[imgleft]http://nerdvana.freedomblogging.com/files/2009/07/sookie_tb-300x410.jpg[/imgleft]According to True Blood creator Alan Ball, whether you’re a fan of Bill and Sookie or Sookie and Eric, season 3 of the HBO hit is sure to make you very unhappy. And, oddly, very happy, too. “Take a look at Joe [Manganiello],” he teases of the hunk he cast as the psychic’s new love interest, the werewolf Alcide. “Do you think [they] have reason to be worried?” Rhetorical questions aside, the writer is confident that, just as his new hire won him over, he’ll win over viewers. “We were looking for a guy who was big, sexy, decent and heroic, with some darkness,” he says. “And [Mangani…

Mark Hamill will reprise his role as Jesse James/The Trickster on The Flash. Hamill first portrayed the villain on the short-lived '90s version of the series. This time around, there's a twist. The character on the CW version is an anarchist and terrorist con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights who helps Barry and Det. West foil the city-wide attacks of a wannabe Trickster eagerly following in the original's deadly footsteps." The episode will air in 2015. "Having Mark reprise his role as The Trickster was on our original wish list when we were planning our version of The Flash," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said. "Christmas and Chanukah came early for us …

[imgleft]http://rtv6blogs.com/rtv6_gm/files/2008/05/abc_logo_hi-res.thumbnail.jpg[/imgleft]ABC is pushing the return of "FlashForward." The Thursday drama will return March 18th instead of the previously announced March 4. The series will air straight through to its finale on May 27. The show will have a two-hour premiere and a two-hour finale -- very "Lost"-esque. The move gets "FlashForward" out of the way of "American Idol" on March 4 and 11th. Bill Cosby is being sued for defamation, as another former supermodel has come forward saying he abused her. Supermodel Beverly Johnson says Cosby attempted to assault her after she auditioned to be an extra on The Cosby Show in the 1980s. "I needed a big break badly and appearing on The Cosby Show seemed like an excellent way of getting Hollywood's attention," she writes. "Cosby asked what I wanted from my career going forward. He seemed genuinely interested in guiding me to the next level. I was on cloud nine." Johnson says Cosby invited her to his brownstone to rehearse lines and offered her an espresso that he had prepared in his personal machine. "I knew by the seco…

[imgleft]http://ewausiello.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/the-oc_l.jpg?w=300&h=400[/imgleft] Julie Cooper’s comin’ to Mystic Falls! Sources confirm to me exclusively that Vampire Diaries has tapped the inimitable Melinda Clarke (The O.C., CSI) to play Kelly Donovan, Matt’s irresponsible, hard-drinking absentee mother. How rotten is this woman? She didn’t even bother to show up to her own daughter’s funeral. (In other words, my kind of gal!) I’m told Clark’s scenery-chewing boozehound will blow into town in March and stick around for at least three episodes. Memo to Kevin Williamson: Let’s get that series regular paperwork started now! Angelea Preston, who competed on Cycle 14 of the reality show before returning and winning Cycle 17, has filed a lawsuit against Tyra Banks. [imgleft] [/imgleft]Two of the men who helped make "American Idol" the biggest show on television are in the news for other reasons. Simon Fuller, who created the "Idol" format, is leaving 19 Entertainment (which produces the series) to start his own company. Former "Idol" executive producer and current "So You Think You Can Dance" judge/producer Nigel Lythgoe has been named chairman of BAFTA's L.A. branch. Fuller had mounted an effort to buy 19's parent company, CKX, but instead opted to break off. He'll still consult with CKX, which has an option to invest in the new venture. "As an entrepreneur I feel I am about to enter my prime years, and starting a new ente…

[imgleft] [/imgleft]Conan O'Brien is done! (Or not.) Jay Leno's definitely going back to "The Tonight Show"! (Not yet, at least.) That's about the size of Thursday's (Jan. 14) news in the NBC late-night saga. There were reports and counter-reports and denials, and it all ended up in about the same place we were the day before. To sum up: TMZ reported Thursday afternoon -- not long after NBC released its post-Olympics, Jay Leno-free prime-time schedule -- that NBC and Leno had struck a deal with NBC to return as host of "The Tonight Show." NBC quickly denied it. Soon after that, People said that O'Brien's last day as "Tonight Show" host would be Jan. 22 (echoing …

Scott Strapp, the former front man of the alternative rock band Creed, may have made some disturbing comments that might be the result of a psychotic episode. Stapp's wife Jaclyn Stapp called 911 to tell authorities that Stapp claimed to be a CIA agent and was on a mission to kill President Barack Obama. Stapp's sister-in-law was also on the call and told the police that Stapp had been shirtless and riding a bicycle around the neighborhood with a backpack full of hundreds of printed-out CIA documents that Stapp had found online. "He thinks he's part of the CIA," Jaclyn says on the 911 call. "He thinks they're trying to kill him and he has a bunch of paperwork in his back…

[imgleft] [/imgleft]Having "30 Rock's" Kenneth the Page (Jack McBrayer) give a tour of the soon-to-be-vacated "Tonight Show" set, it's not surprising that Conan O'Brien has "jokingly" put the show itself for sale on Craigslist. But it's still funny. Posted Wednesday (Jan. 13) afternoon under the "collectibles" category, the listing begins: "4 SALE: BARELY-USED LATE NIGHT TALK SHOW - MAKE ME AN OFFER!!! (Universal Studios)." Accompanied by a couple of sad photos of the empty set, the rest of the specs are pretty straightforward: This is a chance of a lifetime to own your very own late night talk show--guaranteed to last for up to seven months!! Really must…

Bill Cosby’s wife just broke her silence and fiercely defended her husband over various sexual assault allegations, saying, "He is a kind man, a generous man, a funny man, and a wonderful husband, father and friend. He is the man you thought you knew." Camilledidn't attack her husband's accusers, but said the media has been way to quick to pass judgment, saying, "A different man has been portrayed in the media over the last two months. It is the portrait of a man I do not know." She then zeros in on the accusers saying, "It is also the portrait painted by individuals and organizations whom many in the media have given a pass." Camille warns, "We all followed the story of…

[imgleft] [/imgleft]Jimmy Kimmel really took Jay Leno to task on Thursday's 10 @ 10 segment on "The Jay Leno Show". After confessing that at night he only watches "Oprah," Jimmy Kimmel finds any way he can to take a jab at Jay Leno and the NBC late night mess. Regarding his Leno impression: "I hate to give away my secrets, but it's part Sylvester the Cat it's part Curly from the "Three Stooges" and part Scrappy Doo ... silly putty to make yourself a nice Dudley Do-Right chin." His ideal interview: I'd like to do 12 @ 12 with you tomorrow night because I have lots of questions. Best prank Jimmy Kimmel ever pulled: "I told a guy that five years from now I'm gon…

Randy Quaid and his wife went to Canada and now they're not allowed to come home ... so they're suing the United States Secretary of State so they can return to their homeland. Seems Randy and Evi are paying the piper for all the trouble emanating from some hotel hijinks. They skipped out on their $10K hotel bill in 2009 by using bogus credit cards. Criminal charges were filed but they evaded authorities and felony arrest warrants were issued. Randy and Evi went to Canada in 2010 but there was a big problem ... they're fugitives from justice because the felony warrants are still active. So the U.S. government revoked their passports. They've tried to get asylum in Canada…

Meanwhile, Deadline is reporting that the deal is closer to $40 million and that Conan is insistent NBC take care of those close to him. Yet another woman has come forward to accuse Bill Cosby of sexual assault. Chloe Goins claims that she was drugged and awoke to find Cosby licking her toes during a party at the Playboy Mansion in 2008. Goins says she attended the party at the invitation of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. She claims that Hefner introduced her to Cosby and then offered her a drink. She was just 18 years old at the time. "I wasn't really supposed to drink because of my age," Goins tells the Daily Mail. "Everything kind of went a little foggy. I started feeling sick to my stomach and just dizzy." Goins says the comic escorted her to a bedroom where she later woke up naked to find Cosby fondling…

[imgleft] [/imgleft] There are no huge mysteries at the core of "Human Target," no deep back story that's going to require a whole lot of pondering and unpacking after every episode. And that's more than all right. What "Human Target" does have a whole lot of is fun. It's a somewhat old-fashioned and pretty kick-ass hour of TV, with great action sequences in the first two episodes and, probably more important, well-turned performances by its three regulars: Mark Valley, Chi McBride and Jackie Earle Haley. The show is based on the DC/Vertigo comic of the same name and stars Valley as Christopher Chance, a hyper-competent private security expert who's called in to pro…

[imgleft] [/imgleft] "Saturday Night Live" unsurprisingly had a few things to say about the madness afflicting the rest of NBC's late-night lineup. Saturday's opening sketch had a Jay Leno (Darrell Hammond)-Conan O'Brien (Bill Hader) summit on "Larry King Live," with Fred Armisen playing the role of King (and doing so quite well). Host Sigourney Weaver, whose father was president of NBC in the 1950s, mentioned it in her monologue. The best dissection of the situation, though, came from "Weekend Update" anchor Seth Meyers. He did a two-minute rant about how NBC got itself into this situation by comparing it to an off-the-rails marriage. See for yourself. Pretty…

Sean Penn & Charlize Theron got engaged this past November while visiting Paris. The couple "decided to take their relationship to the next level," a source told the magazine. Theron, 39, and Penn, 54, first stepped out together a year ago in December 2013. It's been quite easy for the couple to keep their engagement under wraps since there is reportedly no engagement ring. This would be the third marriage for Penn, who was married to Madonna for four years and to Robin Wright for 14 years. Theron has never been married before and has spoken out about her feelings against a typical marriage. "Let's put it this way: I never had the dream of the white dress. And watchin…
