Switched At Birth Renewed For Season 4
ABC Family announced that Switched at Birth has been renewed for a fourth season. The critically-acclaimed drama has continued to fare well for the network, remaining one of basic cable's strongest dramas over the summer. The show's third season finale is scheduled to air this Monday, August 18.

HBO Renews The Leftovers
HBO announced that The Leftovers has been renewed for a second season. The freshman drama premiered in late June, airing new episodes Sunday evenings where it has delivered fairly healthy ratings over its first seven weeks. The show's 10-episode first season is scheduled to air its finale on September 7. No announcement has been at this time made regarding a time frame for Season 2.

Suits Renewed For Season 5
It was announced by USA Network that Suits has been renewed for a fifth season. The drama is currently airing Season 4, where it is averaging nearly 4 million total viewers for the cable network as well as continuing to be in the Top 10 summer scripted series in key demographics. USA has ordered 16 new episodes of Suits for summer 2015.

ABC Cancels Black Box
ABC announced that summer series Black Box has been cancelled after one season. The mental illness drama aired 13 episodes between April and July but struggled to draw significant viewership over the course of its run. Its premiere episode garnered a healthy 1.5 in the adults 18-49 demographic, but numbers fell to less than half that by the time its finale aired.

Teen Wolf Renewed For Season 5
MTV announced this week at its San Diego Comic-Con panel that Teen Wolf has been renewed for a fifth season. The network has ordered 20 new episodes of the supernatural drama, which will be split into two parts as it was in Season 3.

James Garner Passes Away
Mr. Garner, who smoked for most of his life, even after open-heart surgery in 1988, had suffered a stroke in 2008. He appeared in more than 50 films, many of them dramas. His one Academy Award nomination was for the 1985 romantic comedy “Murphy’s Romance,” in which he played a small-town druggist who woos the new-in-town divorced mom (Sally Field) with a mixture of self-reliance, grouchy charm and lack of sympathy for fools. Rest in peace, Mr Garner.

Major Crimes Renewed For Season 4
TNT announced that Major Crimes has been renewed for a fourth season. The drama has continued to be a solid performer for the cable network, with its current third season seeing a small increase in viewers over last season, with an average of 7 million viewers (Live + 7) so far. 15 episodes of Major Crimes have been ordered for Season 4, which will likely return next summer.

Falling Skies Renewed For Fifth And Final Season
TNT announced that Falling Skies has been renewed for a fifth season. The network also confirmed that the series will end after Season 5, which will conclude with 10 final episodes. The sci-fi drama, which tells a story of life and survival after a catastrophic alien invasion, is currently airing its fourth season, which runs through August. The show's final season will likely return in June 2015.

TNT announced that The Last Ship has been renewed for a second season. Community Revived For Season 6
It was announced last week that Community has been un-cancelled by Sony Pictures Television for a sixth season to be released on Yahoo Screen. The Dan Harmon comedy was cancelled by NBC back in May after five seasons on the peacock network. Community's online return is being pegged for this fall, with 13 new episodes on order. Harmon, along with the show's main cast, will be returning for the new season.

Orphan Black Renewed For Season 3
BBC America announced today that Orphan Black has been renewed for a third season. 10 new episodes of the drama have been ordered for a return in 2015. The show, which is BBC America's second original drama, wrapped Season 2 last month.

Showtime Renews Penny Dreadful
Showtime announced today that Penny Dreadful has been renewed for a second season. The freshman drama premiered just last month, where it has since been met with critical praise and healthy ratings, averaging 4.8 million weekly viewers across all platforms. The network has ordered 10 new episodes of the series for Season 2, with an expected return in 2015.

Ann B. Davis Found Dead
According to the couple she lived with in Texas. Ann fell in her bathroom early this morning and hit her head causing grave damage. We're told she never regained consciousness. Her roommate says Davis had been pretty healthy for an 88-year old woman -- and her death was a total shock. In fact, she even walked downstairs to say goodnight before going to bed. Davis played the housekeeper Alice Nelson for the entire original run of "The Brady Bunch" from 1969 to 1974. She also filled the role for countless other TV movies and reunions. She last played Alice for 5 episodes of "The Bradys" in 1990. Ann was very close to some members of the church she attended in Texas and it has been reported that they are currently planning her funeral arrangements.

Space Renews Bitten
Canadian network Space has renewed freshman series Bitten for a second season in 2015. The supernatural drama, which airs on Syfy in the States, has been picked up for 10 more episodes that will begin filming this summer. The series is popular up north and has become Space's #1 original series of all time. US fans will surely be pleased with the news, as the show's return to Syfy appears likely - though no official statement has been made as of yet regarding a stateside pickup. (Source: Space)

Two and a Half Men To End After Season 12
It was confirmed today that Two and a Half Men will be ending its run after its upcoming twelfth season. CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler made the announcement at the network's press presentation to discuss their fall schedule. Show creator Chuck Lorre is said to be creating a "season-long event" to conclude the series, which will be ending in 2015 after over 250 episodes.

TBS Cancels Men At Work
TBS has cancelled Men at Work after three seasons. The comedy premiered in 2012 and aired 10 episodes each season for a total of 30. The show's finale aired this past March.

Nashville Renewed For Season 3
ABC has renewed Nashville for a third season. The country music drama has continued to be a decent performer for the network, garnering fairly steady ratings week to week. Over its two seasons, the show has won critical acclaim and amassed a loyal following of fans. Music from the series has also been steadily released featuring songs sang by the cast. The Season 2 finale of Nashville airs this Wednesday, May 14. Look for Season 3 to return this fall.

NBC Cancels Dracula
NBC has cancelled Dracula, axing the new drama after one season. The show aired for a short 10-episode run during 2013-2014, but drew lackluster ratings over the course of the season. Dracula joins Believe and Crisis as other recently-cancelled NBC freshman dramas.

The Mentalist Renewed For Season 7
CBS has renewed The Mentalist for a seventh season. The once-ratings heavyweight has seen its viewership dip in recent years, falling to series lows in Season 6, which concludes May 18. It is rumored that the show will return for one final season of 13 episodes, short of its typical order of 22 or more.

TBS has renewed Cougar Town for a sixth and final season. The Courteney Cox comedy has been airing on the cable network since its move from ABC in early 2013. The show will conclude its run with 13 episodes that will air in early 2015. During that time it will surpass the 100-episode milestone.

CBS has cancelled Hostages after one season. The freshman suspense drama ran for 15 episodes during 2013-2014 but failed to draw significant viewership during its run. With the storyline effective wrapped up in the show's final episode, many already expected that it would not return.

CBS has cancelled new comedy Bad Teacher. The mid-season series premiered just last month and has only aired three episodes. Ratings have been average thus far but clearly not at levels the network would like to see in its time slot.

The Crazy Ones Cancelled After One Season
CBS has cancelled The Crazy Ones after one season. The Robin Williams comedy got off to a strong start when it premiered last September. Four weeks into its run it ranked as the season's #1 new comedy, causing the network to pick up the full season of the show. Things, however, got worse during the second half the season. Ratings started to dip, and by its finale fell to less than half of what it pulled in during its early episodes.
