MTV has renewed Awkward for Season 5 in what will be the show's final run to conclude the series. The comedy premiered in 2011 and has amassed a loyal fanbase over the years, even picking up a People's Choice Award for favorite cable comedy along the way. Awkward is current airing new fourth-season episodes on Tuesday nights. There is no word yet on a return time frame or the number of episodes on order for Season 5. -
ABC has announced that Mistresses will be renewed for a third season. The sophomore drama recently wrapped up its second season, which left fans with hanging with a few cliffhangers that are now confirmed to be resolved. Mistresses will continue as a summer series in 2015 with another 13 episodes on order. -

She went on to deliver the news that Season 5 will be a "super-sized" 16 episodes that will air in two parts. It is expected that the premiere will air late this year on Showcase in Canada, with the second half of the season airing in the fall of 2015. It has been reported that CBS has cancelled The Millers just four episodes into its second season. The sophomore comedy has struggled in the ratings so far this fall after moving to a new time slot on Monday nights. Word is that production has already been halted, with this coming Monday's episode possibly being its last. -
It is being reported that TNT has cancelled Perception after three seasons. The Eric McCormack procedural is the second show the network has axed this week. Though ratings were slightly down in Season 3 compared to Season 2, reasons for Perception's cancellation are unclear. The move could be in part related to TNT's recently-stated desire to transition to edgier programming under new president Kevin Reilly. Look for the remaining episodes in Perception's third season to air in February 2015. -
It has been reported that TNT has cancelled Franklin & Bash after four seasons. Its most recent season, which ended last month, saw a significant ratings drop of over 50% from previous seasons. That viewership dip, combined with the network's recent desire to transition to edgier programming, likely factored into its cancellation. -
Showtime has announced that Homeland has been renewed for a fifth season. The award-winning drama has continued to perform well for the network in its current season after a major character death in Season 3 forced it to hit the reset button. 12 new episodes of Homeland have been ordered Season 5, which is likely to return in fall 2015. AMC has announced that Hell on Wheels has been renewed for a fifth and final season. The western drama will return with 14 episodes to conclude the series, split between the summers of 2015 and 2016. The show has three episodes remaining in Season 4, which is scheduled to wrap up on November 22. When the show bows out in 2016, it will cap a successful 5-year run of 57 total episodes. CBS has confirmed that the long-running crime procedural The Mentalist will be concluding after its upcoming seventh season. The show will kick off its final season on Sunday, November 30, where it will air new episodes through December. In the new year, episodes will move to Wednesday nights starting on January 7. A special 2-hour finale will air on Wednesday, February 18 to conclude the series. -
It is being reported that Lifetime has cancelled Witches of East End after two seasons. The sophomore drama will not return for Season 3, leaving multiple cliffhangers up in the air from its second season finale which aired last month. -

The freshman drama is off to a decent start over its first five weeks, ranking as Sunday night's most-viewed scripted broadcast with 13.5 million viewers. The initial 13 episodes ordered for Madam Secretary has now been expanded to a full 22 for the season. -
The CW has announced that it has ordered a full season of The Flashafter an impressive start to its run. The superhero drama's debut earlier this month was the most-watched series premiere in the network's history with 6.1 million viewers in Live + 3 ratings. It also leads The CW's roster in the adults 18-49 demographic over its first two episodes. The initial 13 episodes ordered for The Flash will now be expanded to a full 22 for the season. -
FX has announced that The Bridge will not be returning for a third season. The Diane Kruger-led crime drama premiered in 2013 and ran for two 13-episode seasons. Its final episode aired earlier this month. -
The official Z Nation Twitter account has announced a second season renewal for the freshman series. Syfy's new post-zombie apocalypse drama, currently at the halfway point of the season, has gotten off to a solid start in the ratings since its debut last month. New episodes are currently airing Friday nights with the first-season finale expected in early December. No details have been released yet regarding a time frame for the show's Season 2 return. -
WGN America announced today that Manhattan has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes ahead of the freshman drama's finale this Sunday, capping a critically acclaimed 13-episode debut run. Season 2 of Manhattan is slated to begin production in the spring for a premiere later in 2015. -
FOX has announced that it has topped up the first season of Gotham to a full 22 episodes. The network has ordered six new episodes on top of the original issue of 16 after a strong start for the series over its first three weeks. Gotham is one of this fall's top new dramas, so far performing strongly in its Monday night time slot. The series premiere was also FOX's top fall drama debut in 14 years when factoring in Live + 7 ratings. -
FX has announced that American Horror Story will be renewed for a fifth installment. The news comes days after its most-recent premiere set a record as the most-watched telecast in the network's history. FX has ordered 13 episodes for the series' next installment, which will premiere in October 2015. The current season, American Horror Story: Freak Show, is currently airing Wednesdays through January. -
Starz has renewed Black Sails for a third season. The drama, which premiered earlier this year, does not begin Season 2 until this coming January. If the show's production schedule sticks to one season each year, Season 3 won't premiere until 2016. -

Freshman comedy Working the Engels has been cancelled after one season. The Canadian-based series, which starred Andrea Martin, was a collaboration between U.S. and Canadian entities - the first of its kind for a sitcom. NBC pulled Working the Engels from its schedule today, cutting its debut run short after just five episodes. Canadian broadcaster Global Television, which aired season one in its entirety earlier this year, announced that the show has been cancelled up north as well, citing low ratings as the primary reason.
