USA Network has announced that its longest running original drama, Burn Notice, has been renewed for a seventh season. On the air since 2007, the series has remained one of the network's top shows, and will be its third ever to reach the 100 episode mark. “Burn Notice is like a fine wine that gets better with age,” said network Co-Presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel. “Delivering high-octane action, gripping drama and nearly 7 million viewers for the mid-season finale, this veteran series is a proven staple of our portfolio.” The second half of the show's sixth season returns tonight with a special two-hour episode, and will continue through to the end of the year. It is being reported that USA Network has decided against renewing Fairly Legal for a third season, making it the second show cancelled by the network this week. New series Common Law was also axed. Fairly Legal never fully lived up to its potential on USA. The network attempted to re-tool the show after a lacklustre first season, but the changes were not enough to warrant a season 3 pick-up. TNT has announced that sophomore drama Franklin & Bash has been renewed for a third season. The series stars Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as two street-smart lawyers and longtime friends who are recruited into a legendary, but uptight, law firm. “Franklin & Bash, with its winning cast and some of the sharpest dialogue on television, is a refreshingly clever, light-hearted take on the courtroom drama,” said network executive VP Michael Wright in a press release. “We look forward to spending another season with Breckin, Mark-Paul and the rest of the terrific cast and crew of Franklin & Bash.” The number of episodes ordered is not known, nor is the expected return date, but each of the show's previous two seasons have started in early June with a run of 10 episodes.
