Royals outfielder Alex Gordon has had surgery on his right wrist, and the four-time Gold Glove winner should be ready for the season opener against the White Sox on April 6. The New York Rangers have reached a one-year contract extension with goalie Cam Talbot. The 27-year-old Talbot agreed to a $1.45 million deal for next season. He is earning $575,000 this season. Son Brian Walther said Tuesday his father died Sunday in an Atlanta hospice.
