Torchwood Season Four Confirmed!!!
[imgleft] [/imgleft]Russell T. Davies has confirmed that a fourth series of Torchwood is in the works. The show's creator revealed that he is hoping to get started on the new run in January 2010. "The recession has hit British television, but fingers crossed, it will be a go," he stated. "We expect things to start to move in January. "We've got great ideas for the show. I think there's a further lease on life for many years to come, but certainly for a [fourth season]." After the ace 3rd series 'Torchwood: Children of Earth' many believed this would be a final farewell for our Welsh heroes. Davies had confirmed that a 4th series would be moving ahead , he told Torchwood Magazine (via filmshaft.com): “I could write you scene one of series four right now. I know exactly how to pick it up. I’ve got a shape in mind, and I’ve got stories. I know where you’d find Gwen and Rhys, and their baby, and Jack, and I know how you’d go forward with a new form of Torchwood." It is not known how radical the changes will be in the new series, but it is worth noting that John Barrowman is expected to be joining 'Desperate Housewives' soon. Updated : 2nd December 2009: [imgleft] [/imgleft]John Barrowman discussed the new series of Torchwood on BBC Radio 2 and had this to say: "We are discussing the future of Torchwood because most definitely Torchwood will come back to the BBC, which is fantastic. "We're not sure when, because we have to work out the logistics of the filming - and it's already said that it'll be 13 episodes instead of 5." Barrowman also revealed he was not sure if Captain Jack will ever feature in 'Doctor Who' again: "I don't know about Captain's Jack future in Doctor Who because nothing has been said or I haven't been asked. "I'm kind of prepared that I won't be in any of it, which is fine." In regard to the revelation by Barrowman that it would be a 13 episode run for Torchwood Series 4, a BBC spokesperson told Digital Spy: "Torchwood proved a huge success with our audiences with the one epic story stripped across a single week. "We know there is a huge public clamour for the return of the Torchwood team. Although no final decision has been made yet, discussion is under way about their future." True Blood boss previews Sookie's intense new romance
[imgleft]http://nerdvana.freedomblogging.com/files/2009/07/sookie_tb-300x410.jpg[/imgleft]According to True Blood creator Alan Ball, whether you’re a fan of Bill and Sookie or Sookie and Eric, season 3 of the HBO hit is sure to make you very unhappy. And, oddly, very happy, too. “Take a look at Joe [Manganiello],” he teases of the hunk he cast as the psychic’s new love interest, the werewolf Alcide. “Do you think [they] have reason to be worried?” Rhetorical questions aside, the writer is confident that, just as his new hire won him over, he’ll win over viewers. “We were looking for a guy who was big, sexy, decent and heroic, with some darkness,” he says. “And [Manganiello] showed us all of that in the audition.” In fact, the One Tree Hill alum so impressed the boss that he wasn’t asked to take a chemistry test with leading lady Anna Paquin. “We do that when we have four or five options,” Ball explains, “and in this instance, I felt like Joe was the only one who came close to what the character needed to be.” Though Alcide isn’t introduced as a potential suitor for Sookie — “As in the book, he’s helping her find [her kidnapped boyfriend] Bill,” Ball notes, “and he has a business reason for owing Eric a favor” — one (bad) thing leads to an (incredibly sexy) other. “He’s there with her during a very painful time in her life — and his life, actually. And they’re thrown into some pretty intense situations together. “And hello, he’s hot!” he adds with a laugh. “And hello, so is she. Two hot people in some intense situations and, for whatever reasons, there significant others are not there… they’re human.” Source: http://series.nu/top...se-new-romance/

Lost fans promised a 'shocking finale' *Spoilers*
[imgleft] [/imgleft]*POSSIBLE SPOILERS* "Can you decipher it? Lost fans promised a 'shocking finale' as the cast take part in an encrypted recreation of The Last Supper" It's one of TV's most mysterious, yet addictive shows and the finale promises to be a major television event. So, what better way to promote the end of U.S. series Lost than with a encrypted recreation of Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper? There are two pictures which feature all of the show's characters in a replica of the famous painting and signal the final curtain for a show that has left audiences around the globe glued to their screens in awe and confusion. What does it mean? The picture, released by ABC, is thought to contain clues about the conclusion of one of television's most mysterious and popular serials Spot the difference: In the second picture the characters are looking away from Locke - who is seated in the same position as Jesus in Da Vinci's original painting Now, with the finale drawing close, fans have been analysing the new photos to see if there are any clues as to what may occur in the last series. Some of the key points fans have picked up on since the photo was released include: ? In the first photo everyone is looking at Locke, who is clearly in the Jesus position. Could this be proof that his prophet-like role among the survivors and mystical understanding of the island will continue? ? There are skulls at both Sayid’s and Hurley’s feet. Is death knocking at their door? Or are they just stones or coconuts, meant as a red herring? ? It looks like wrinkles are visible on Richard’s face. Could he finally be aging? If so, what does this say about the magical, powers of the island? Viewers will have to wait until the final series launches in the U.S. on February 2 to find out exactly what happens, but can expect a dramatic conclusion to the show. ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson announced that Lost will end with a "highly anticipated and shocking finale." 'We felt that this was the only way to give Lost a proper creative conclusion,' he said.

Heroes was the Most Pirated Show of 2009
[imgleft] [/imgleft]Way to go, kids! It's all your fault that Heroes will be canceled! Well, not really, but you're pushing it. According to the blog TorrentFreak, which reports on the Internet black market known as file-sharing, NBC's Heroes was the most illegally downloaded television show of 2009. The stat shouldn't be taken as gospel, however, as the site merely lists the number of downloads for a show's most popular episode and not its entire season run (not to mention that it's tough to swallow empirical data from a site with "freak" in its name). Still, TorrentFreak claims that the most-pirated episode of Heroes (the particulars of the episode were not disclosed) was "stolen" approximately 6,580,000 times. That's over half a million more than the show's average TV audience. Overall, sci-fi and action dominated the list of most-pirated shows, with Lost (6,310,000 downloads), Prison Break (3,450,000), Dexter (2,780,000), and House (2,590,000) rounding out the top five. Eight of the top ten entries were broadcast shows, and two were premium-cable shows (Dexter and no. 10 True Blood), indicating that TV piracy isn't committed primarily by those who don't want to pay extra for HBO and Showtime, but rather by those who don't want to pay for cable at all and are willing to watch on their dinky computer monitors. And while online piracy is thought to be the realm of the male basement nerd, both Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives made the top ten list. Either female basement nerds are getting into the act too, or the guys out there are getting soft. That's what happens when you dudes gender-swap and level a female night elf to 70 in World of Warcraft. Overall, the takeaway from these numbers isn't that there are millions of horrible people out there stealing TV (a large chunk of the downloads is thought to be from foreign markets that can't get the shows legally), it's this: Television viewing habits are changing. Networks shouldn't be looking for ways to stop illegal downloading, but rather to find a way to make it work to their advantage. The list: Show Title, Downloads of most-popular episode 1. Heroes, 6,580,000 2. Lost, 6,310,000 3. Prison Break, 3,450,000 4. Dexter, 2,780,000 5. House, 2,590,000 6. 24, 2,440,000 7. Desperate Housewives, 2,180,000 8. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, 1,960,000 9. Grey's Anatomy, 1,740,000 10. True Blood, 1,600,000 Source: http://www.tv.com/heroes-is-the-most-pirated-show-of-2009/story/20493.html

Chased From Sweden, Pirate Bay Sails To Ukraine
In August the bandwidth supplier to The Pirate Bay was ordered by a court to disconnect the world's largest BitTorrent tracker from the Internet. Within hours the site had relocated to a new host which immediately received similar entertainment industry threats. Now it seems the Bay has left Sweden, setting sail for Ukraine. At the end of August, Stockholm's district court ordered Black Internet, the bandwidth supplier to The Pirate Bay, to disconnect the site from the Internet, pending the outcome of a civil action taken by several Hollywood entertainment companies. The ISP had little choice but to comply or face large fines, but TPB was quick to react and quickly partnered with a new host. That short honeymoon was quickly over. It took just 20 minutes before the Hollywood companies telephoned the new host who took over operation of The Pirate Bay, commented Patrik from the ISP which had been indirectly supplying bandwidth to TPB. Despite initially putting on a brave face and standing strong, Patrik's company continued to feel the heat. It is not a large outfit and doesn't have the resources to fight the entertainment industry and its threats. Last night, Patrik could hold off no longer after receiving mounting threats from the entertainment industries, which culminated in threats of a court summons. Having come this far, there is little doubt that IFPI and the MPAA would litigate if necessary. I was threatened by the movie and music companies, Patrik said today. He had no choice but to stop servicing TPB. His company cut off the site's bandwidth last night but The Pirate Bay is fully operational, so they must've found another host. It's likely that they already had one prepared. With Sweden seemingly out of bounds, the site needed to move overseas. The Netherlands is not really an option anymore and the same goes for most of Western Europe, the solution lies in the east. On the heels of several rumors today, Patrik said he could confirm news of the move, saying that he believes The Pirate Bay is now hosted in Ukraine. There have been signs that this Eastern European nation is becoming an attractive location for torrent site hosting, with several large sites and services showing interest. However, as illustrated by the on-going problems at Demonoid, TorrentFreak is told that the reliability can leave a lot to be desired, with sites having to take measures to ensure that when their Ukrainian hosting becomes unavailable, backup resources kick in. The standard of Pirate Bay's new home (if it is indeed in Ukraine) isn't likely to reflect the comparative luxury of Sweden, but that door seems to be all but closed now. Whether the site stays in Ukraine is another question, but that aside, a simple one remains; Would you host The Pirate Bay in Sweden? The answer will likely match the response to "Do you like lawsuits?" To View The Original Article Click Here.

Spectrial 2: Pirate Bay Appeal Scheduled for November
In April The Pirate Bay Four were sentenced to a year in prison, and on top of that each of them was ordered to pay the entertainment industry $905,000 in damages. The defendants soon announced that they would appeal, and the date for the new trial has been set for November by the Appeal Court. Millions of BitTorrent users all around the world followed the Pirate Bay trial with great interest this February. Many had hoped that the Court would decide that operating a BitTorrent tracker is no offense, and indeed the ten day trial started off with a small victory for the defendants. On day two of the trial the prosecutor announced that half of the charges against the four defendants had been dropped. The prosecutor couldn

Patrick Steward - Trek to Tardis?
Rumor has it that Patrick Stewart may be headed to another science-fiction franchise next year. As reported by the Daily Star, Stewart may join Doctor Who next year, and could become a regular character on the popular science-fiction series. According to the article, Stewart has been offered the role of a rival Time Lord, called "The Meddling Monk." The Meddling Monk was last seen on Doctor Who in the second and third seasons of Doctor Who in the 1960s, in the The Time Meddler and The Daleks' Master Plan episodes. The Meddling Monk was played originally by Peter Butterworth. Stewart, a big fan of Doctor Who, would like to take the part if his schedule will permit it. According to the Daily Star, the BBC is so eager to have Stewart, that they will save his character for 2010 if necessary. Sources claim that "Patrick has been formally approached to star in Doctor Who and is very keen to do it." Stewart has expressed his desire to be in Doctor Who before, as reported by TrekMovie.com. "I would love to be in Doctor Who," said Stewart at the time. "I am doing some R.S.C. work with David Tennant next year so who knows? If we gel on stage we could on screen." Only time will tell if The Meddling Monk will return to Doctor Who. To read more, head to the article located here.
