    NBC announced today that A.P. Bio has been renewed for a second season. The Seth Meyers-produced comedy premiered as a mid-season entry in February and just wrapped its 13-episode freshman run last week.
    The half-hour series follows a philosophy scholar who, after losing out on his dream job, takes a position as a high school Advanced Placement Biology teacher. But he has plans far beyond teaching biology, including using his classroom full of honor roll students to help him mentally break his job-stealing nemesis and win back the position that he feels is rightfully his.

    'Life Sentence' Cancelled At The CW

    Some sad news today for fans of Life Sentence, as The CW has officially cancelled the new dramedy after just one season. Star Lucy Hale took to Twitter this morning to share the information with her followers, writing that she is shell shocked by the cancellation but proud of what the show accomplished.
    The mid-season entry premiered in March and is currently seven episodes into its 13-episode run. While Hale brings with her a sizeable fan base, the series has struggled to find an audience, with ratings among the lowest in the network's prime time lineup.
    Life Sentence follows Stella, a young woman who has spent the last eight years living like she was dying after being diagnosed with cancer.     'The 100' Renewed For Season 6

    The CW announced this evening that The 100 will be returning for a sixth season. A handmaid in the commander's household, she is one of the caste of women who are forced into servitude in a desperate attempt to repopulate the world.

    'Westworld' Renewed For Season 3

    'Homeland' To End After Season 8

    It looks as if the end of Homeland is near. In an interview with Howard Stern earlier today, star Claire Danes appeared to confirm that the long-running drama will indeed not continue past next season - the show's eighth.

    Created by Mike Judge, the award-winning half-hour series continues to garner critical acclaim year in and year out. Its audience numbers, though, have taken a noticeable hit in Seasons 4 and 5, having dropped roughly half of its viewers compared to its first three seasons.
    Partially inspired by Judge's experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the late '80s, the comedy follows the lives of a group of high tech workers in the Palo Alto area of California. While this group of social outcasts may be the most qualified to succeed in this modern environment, they are not necessarily capable of handling the success.

    CBS Renews 'S.W.A.T.'

    CBS announced today that S.W.A.T. will be returning for a second season. The early pickup comes in the midst of the drama's freshman run, which has eight episodes remaining ahead of its season finale in May.
    The series premiered late last fall with an initial 13-episode order that ended up faring well for the network. It was just a few weeks until the show was given an additional seven episodes, followed by two more in December. That brought its total count to 22 episodes - a full season's worth.
    S.W.A.T. has actually done a solid job to improve CBS' fortunes on Thursday nights at 10:00pm. The network has had trouble finding a reliable show to put in that time slot for a number of years now, so S.W.A.T.'s consistent performance no doubt ensured its return for a second season.
    Shemar Moore stars in the Los Angeles-based series, which follows a former Marine tasked with running a specialized tactical unit that acts as the city's last stop in law enforcement. Raised on the streets, he is torn between his loyalty to his roots and his allegiance to his new brothers in blue as he works to bridge the divide between his two worlds.
    Look for Season 2 to premiere as part of CBS' 2018-2019 lineup this fall.
